TOW INDICATOR

TOW INDICATOR

Diving covertly at night and in low visibility is a normal operation environment for SOF operators.

For complex team towing operations, we designed a tow indicator. When used to attach a towing rope, this simple and reliable device symbolizes the status of being tensioned by a low-visibility red diode.

This allows for implementation of several complex towing tactics, where multiple DPV’s are used together when connected.

Locking ring allows to turn the light permanently ON,  to be used as low-visibility light marker.

USAGE CASE

USAGE CASE

It is difficult to operate multiple DPVs when they are connected to a single line due to the poor situational awareness of drivers at night.  This leads to the usage of big vehicles, which tow big, 4-6 people teams.

The tow indicator changes it.

If two DPVs are connected together in a single line, the rear  one can adjust its power precisely to still keep rope tension (red light is ON), and use maximum power of own propulsion system.

In case of rapid stop or deceleration, the light is OFF letting the rear driver stop, and not drive into the front team.
